Rules & Regulations

Overview

Adherence to these rules is mandatory for maintaining a safe, respectful, and high-achieving educational environment at BASS.

1. Admission and Leaving

  • Admission Requirement: Every student must present the original School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from their previous school.
  • Issuing a Leaving Certificate: A leaving certificate is issued only after the respective Section provides a clearance certificate and all school dues are fully paid.

2. Attendance and Punctuality

  • Punctuality and Regularity: Students are expected to be punctual and attend school regularly.
  • Leave Applications: Leave is granted only when absolutely unavoidable and requires a written application , duly signed by a parent/guardian, sent to the Principal in advance. Parents must consult the Principal before applying for any leave.
  • Mandatory Attendance: Students must have 90% attendance to be eligible to appear in the final examination, including Board Exams.
  • Unauthorised Absence: A student absent for 20 consecutive days without informing the school may be removed from the school roll without notice.
  • Re-admission after Absence: A student may be re-admitted upon payment of a re-admission fee and providing a written undertaking, provided they contact the school within one month.
  • Irregular Attendance Fine: A minimum fine of Rs. 50/- per day is charged for absence without prior information or reason, which may be increased if deemed necessary.

3. Health and Appearance

  • Contagious Illnesses: Children with contagious/infectious diseases are not permitted to attend school until fully recovered.
  • Fitness Certificate: A certificate of fitness signed by a qualified doctor must be submitted before rejoining the school.
  • Uniform and Appearance: Students who do not come in proper uniform or have an untidy appearance are liable to be sent back home.
  • Entry Restriction: Latecomers and improperly dressed students will not be allowed to enter the school premises.

4. School Property and Belongings

  • Looking After Property: Students are expected to look after their own belongings and maintain the school environment.
  • Damage to Property: Any damage done to school property by a student will be repaired or paid for by the parents.

5. Parent-School Cooperation

  • Cooperation Requirement: Parent-teacher cooperation is essential for a student's academic progress and personality development.
  • Parental Responsibilities: Parents must ensure their children attend school regularly and complete all homework.
  • PTM Attendance: It is mandatory for all parents to attend the Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM).

6. School Timing and Access

  • Regular School Timings: 07:45 hrs to 14:00 hrs. On Friday: 07:45 hrs to 12:30 hrs.
  • Leaving During School Hours: No student is allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without prior written permission from the Principal.
  • Principal's Visiting Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
  • Meeting with the Director: Visitors are requested to take an appointment beforehand before meeting the Director.
  • Transportation: Parents must ensure the safe and timely transportation of their children to and from the school.

7. Fees and Finances

  • Fee Payment Deadline: Fee must be paid no later than the 20th of every month.
  • Removal for Non-Payment: If the fee is not paid by the deadline without a written application, the student's name is liable to be removed from the school roll without notice.
  • Fee Revision: Fee charges can be changed or revised without prior notice to the parents to maintain the high quality of education and standards.

8. Disciplinary Action

  • Prohibited Items: Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones, video games, cameras, or any expensive items. If found, the items will be confiscated.
  • Grounds for Removal/Dismissal: A student may be dismissed for: Habitual idleness , lack of interest in studies, unsatisfactory academic progress, misbehaviour, irregularity in attendance, and disregard of school rules.
