Detailed Admissions Procedures and Requirements
1. Eligibility and Testing
Who Can Apply: Admission is open to both girls and boys for all classes, from Playgroup to Class VIII, and from OL I to OL VIII.
- Basis for Admission: Admission is granted based on the student's written test score, their previous academic record, and an interview.
- Test Standard: The entry test will match either the student's age group or the required academic standard of the class they are seeking admission to.
- Subjects Tested: The admission test will cover four subjects: English, Maths, Science, and Urdu, based on the concepts of the class previously studied. (Note: For Class VIII and above, other subjects will also be tested for admission.)
- Qualifying Score: To qualify for admission, a student must secure a minimum of 70% in each subject.
- Re-test Opportunity: Students who score between 55% and 69% in the admission test may be given a chance for a re-test if they are willing.
2. Registration and Procedure
- Registration Timing: Registration usually takes place every year in the month of January.
- Information Availability: Parents must contact the Receptionist to get the registration form, the syllabus for the admission test, and the date for the admission test.
- Seat Availability is Key: Parents should be clear about the availability of seats. If a seat is available, the student can register. If no seat is available, the student's name will be placed on a waiting list for future consideration.
- Casual Vacancies: The school does not formally announce casual vacancies. These seats are offered on a "first come, first served basis," provided the applicants meet the school's standards.
- Test Supervision & Results: The admission test is conducted under the supervision of the Admission Committee. The result will be communicated by telephone within a maximum of two days.
- Final Authority: The School Admission Committee has the sole authority to grant admission under the school's rules and regulations.
3. Post-Test Procedure
- Interviews: Students who pass the entry test will be called for an interview along with their parents to meet with the Headmistresses (HMs) and the Principal.
- The Agreement: After the interview, the HM will get the "Home School Agreement" signed and issue the Admission Form to the parents. Breach of this agreement at any stage may lead to the termination of the student's admission.
- Principal Meeting: The Principal will meet with the parents before signing the Admission Form to explain the complete education system followed at BASS.
- Submitting Documents: Parents must submit the completed Admission Form at the Reception, along with the photocopies of documents mentioned on the form.
4. Fee Payment and Final Steps
- Fee Voucher: Parents must collect the fee voucher from the Accounts Section.
- Fee Deposit: The child's fee must be deposited at the Bank Al Habib Model Colony Branch.
- Confirmation: The paid fee voucher must then be shown at the Reception.
