Detailed Admissions Procedures and Requirements
1. Eligibility and Testing
Who Can Apply: Admission is open to both girls and boys for all classes, from Playgroup to Class VIII, and from OL I to OL VIII.
- Basis for Admission: Admission is granted based on the student's written test score, their previous academic record, and an interview.
- Test Standard: The entry test will match either the student's age group or the required academic standard of the class they are seeking admission to.
- Subjects Tested: The admission test will cover four subjects: English, Maths, Science, and Urdu, based on the concepts of the class previously studied. (Note: For Class VIII and above, other subjects will also be tested for admission.)
- Qualifying Score: To qualify for admission, a student must secure a minimum of 70% in each subject.
- Re-test Opportunity: Students who score between 55% and 69% in the admission test may be given a chance for a re-test if they are willing.
2. Registration and Procedure
- Registration Timing: Registration usually takes place every year in the month of January.
- Information Availability: Parents must contact the Receptionist to get the registration form, the syllabus for the admission test, and the date for the admission test.
- Seat Availability is Key: Parents should be clear about the availability of seats. If a seat is available, the student can register. If no seat is available, the student's name will be placed on a waiting list for future consideration.
- Casual Vacancies: The school does not formally announce casual vacancies. These seats are offered on a "first come, first served basis," provided the applicants meet the school's standards.
- Test Supervision & Results: The admission test is conducted under the supervision of the Admission Committee. The result will be communicated by telephone within a maximum of two days.
- Final Authority: The School Admission Committee has the sole authority to grant admission under the school's rules and regulations.
3. Post-Test Procedure
- Interviews: Students who pass the entry test will be called for an interview along with their parents to meet with the Headmasters (HMs) and the Principal.
- The Agreement: After the interview, the HM will get the "Home School Agreement" signed and issue the Admission Form to the parents. Breach of this agreement at any stage may lead to the termination of the student's admission.
- Principal Meeting: The Principal will meet with the parents before signing the Admission Form to explain the complete education system followed at BASS.
- Submitting Documents: Parents must submit the completed Admission Form at the Reception, along with the photocopies of documents mentioned on the form.
4. Fee Payment and Final Steps
- Fee Voucher: Parents must collect the fee voucher from the Accounts Section.
- Fee Deposit: The child's fee must be deposited at the Bank Al Habib Model Colony Branch.
- Confirmation: The paid fee voucher must then be shown at the Reception.
- Final Information: The Reception will provide parents with information regarding the joining date, school uniform, transport, course books/notebooks, and school policy, among other details.
- Additional Queries: If parents need any additional information, they can get an appointment through the receptionist to see the respective Headmaster(s).
- General Information: Parents can get complete information about the admission process, including the fee structure, education system, commencement of classes, and school academic results, from the Reception.
Comprehensive Rules and Regulations
Adherence to these rules is mandatory for maintaining a safe, respectful, and high-achieving educational environment at BASS.
1. Admission and Leaving
- Admission Requirement: Every student must present the original School Leaving Certificate (SLC) from their previous school.
- Issuing a Leaving Certificate: A leaving certificate is issued only after the respective Section provides a clearance certificate and all school dues are fully paid.
2. Attendance and Punctuality
- Punctuality and Regularity: Students are expected to be punctual and attend school regularly.
- Leave Applications: Leave is granted only when absolutely unavoidable and requires a written application , duly signed by a parent/guardian, sent to the Principal in advance. Parents must consult the Principal before applying for any leave.
- Mandatory Attendance: Students must have 90% attendance to be eligible to appear in the final examination, including Board Exams.
- Unauthorised Absence: A student absent for 20 consecutive days without informing the school may be removed from the school roll without notice.
- Re-admission after Absence: A student may be re-admitted upon payment of a re-admission fee and providing a written undertaking, provided they contact the school within one month.
- Irregular Attendance Fine: A minimum fine of Rs. 50/- per day is charged for absence without prior information or reason, which may be increased if deemed necessary.
3. Health and Appearance
- Contagious Illnesses: Children with contagious/infectious diseases are not permitted to attend school until fully recovered.
- Fitness Certificate: A certificate of fitness signed by a qualified doctor must be submitted before rejoining the school.
- Uniform and Appearance: Students who do not come in proper uniform or have an untidy appearance are liable to be sent back home.
- Entry Restriction: Latecomers and improperly dressed students will not be allowed to enter the school premises.
4. School Property and Belongings
- Looking After Property: Students are expected to look after their own belongings and maintain the school environment.
- Damage to Property: Any damage done to school property by a student will be repaired or paid for by the parents.
5. Parent-School Cooperation
- Cooperation Requirement: Parent-teacher cooperation is essential for a student's academic progress and personality development.
- Parental Responsibilities: Parents must ensure their children attend school regularly and complete all homework.
- PTM Attendance: It is mandatory for all parents to attend the Parents Teachers Meeting (PTM).
6. School Timing and Access
- Regular School Timings: 07:45 hrs to 14:00 hrs. On Friday: 07:45 hrs to 12:30 hrs.
- Leaving During School Hours: No student is allowed to leave the school premises during school hours without prior written permission from the Principal.
- Principal's Visiting Hours: Monday & Wednesday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon.
- Director's Visiting Hours: Tuesday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon (O Level Campus); Thursday: 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon (Main Campus).
- Transportation: Parents must ensure the safe and timely transportation of their children to and from the school.
7. Fees and Finances
- Fee Payment Deadline: Fee must be paid no later than the 20th of every month.
- Removal for Non-Payment: If the fee is not paid by the deadline without a written application, the student's name is liable to be removed from the school roll without notice.
- Fee Revision: Fee charges can be changed or revised without prior notice to the parents to maintain the high quality of education and standards.
8. Disciplinary Action
- Prohibited Items: Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones, video games, cameras, or any expensive items. If found, the items will be confiscated.
- Grounds for Removal/Dismissal: A student may be dismissed for: Habitual idleness , lack of interest in studies, unsatisfactory academic progress, misbehaviour, irregularity in attendance, and disregard of school rules.
- Final Decision: The Director’s or Principal’s decision in all academic and disciplinary matters is final and binding on the students and their parents.
